Would you identify yourself or your boss as one of them ??

Picked this up a few years ago.. Found it to be a good read.
Harvard and Stanford Universities have reported that 85% the reason a person gets a job and gets ahead in that job is due to attitude; and only 15% is because of technical or specific skills.
Interesting, isn’t it? You spent how much money on your education? And you spent how much money on building your positive attitude? Ouch. That hurts. Now here’s an interesting thought.
With the “right” attitude, you can and will develop the necessary skills.
So where’s your emphasis? Skill building? Attitude building? Unfortunately, “Neither” is the real answer for many people. Perhaps if more people knew how simple it is to develop and maintain a positive attitude they would invest more time doing so.
So here we go.
Five steps to staying positive in a negative world:
1) Understand that failure is an event, it is not a person. Yesterday ended last night; today is a brand new day, and it’s yours. You were born to win, but to be a winner you must plan to win, prepare to win, and then you can expect to win.
2) Become a lifetime student. Learn just one new word every day and in five years you will be able to talk with just about anybody about anything. When your vocabulary improves, your I.Q. goes up 100% of the time, according to Georgetown Medical School.
3) Read something informational or inspirational every day. Reading for 20 minutes at just 240 words per minute will enable you to read 20 200-page books each year. That’s 18 more than the average person reads! What an enormous competitive advantage. . if you’ll just read for 20 minutes a day.
4) The University of Southern California reveals that you can acquire the equivalent of two years of a college education in three years just by listening to motivational and educational cassettes on the way to your job and again on the way home. What could be easier?
5) Start the day and end the day with positive input into your mind. Inspirational messages cause the brain to flood with dopamine and norepinephrine, the energizing neurotransmitters; with endorphins, the endurance neurotransmitters; and with serotonin, the feel-good-about-yourself neurotransmitter. Begin and end the day by reading or doing something positive!
Remember: Success is a process, not an event.
Invest the time in your attitude and it will pay off in your skills as well as your career.
Think of it…….

Happy Ganesh Chaturthi
” O lord with the twisted trunk, with the effulgence of a billion suns, always remove the obstacles when I am on an auspicious undertaking. “
Wish you all a very happy and prosperous Ganesha festival.
Yessss ..!! Am back in Namma Bengaluru for good.. Australia was fun, cozy and a good break from a 6 year long work tenure. But i loooouv ma Country. It’s something about India that makes it worthwhile to stay here despite the population outburst, chaotic traffic, corruption, blah blah blah… This City is Warm and Full of Lyf. This is my Ooru.. Namma Bengaluru. Feels good to be back home 🙂
Almost in December last year, when i started this blog… i had decided this is where I’d be ranting around a lot. I also remembered a caption from the Jim Carrey Starrer movie MASK… “Why do Nice Guys finish last?” … I really haven’t found an answer to that.. That has been my pursuit for now.
Well Lyf sucks sometimes and is harsh but to every grey cloud there’s a silver lining as well. The pursuit is constant. It’s quite an irony when you plan your life to perfection but everything just goes tipsy turvy… May be Its Gods way of sayin “Slow down Buddy !!!” 😉
Dreams and aspirations sometimes tend to go down the drain all in a single blow.. But jo haar kar jeete usko kehte hai Baazigar 😉 .. Lyf can give u one too many reasons to be bogged down but overcoming them and moving on is necessary. I have had a similar tale where i was bogged down but Thanks to my friends, family and well-wishers i am beginning to see the silver lining.. This post today is just to say a simple “Thank You” to all of you folks out there who have been by my side thru the ups & downs in my lyf and given my unconditional support in the form of your friendship and love. I am ever grateful 🙂 Cheers ..!!
Melbourne‘s Fantastic …!!! Been here for almost 2 months, and am constantly learning a lot about the Ausie way of life and i am kinda amazed. This country has a great deal to offer and has very strong individualistic values.
Australia is completely about beautiful landscapes..Its simply wonderful.. systematic transportation networks by Connex. I cant imagine if India will have it some day. The rate at which our population is exploding, i think its only gonna be a distant dream. Melbourne is divided into two main regions.. the main city center (CBD and Inner suburbs) and the outer suburbs.
The moment you get out to the CBD ( Central Business District ) area, The first feel anyone would get is, God handpicked a few people from each country in the world and dropped them in Melbourne.. Its a mixture of people from all over the world. Everyone’s too busy to get pokey into others business.
The city is wonderful and unique in its own way… a few things i just cant seem to take my mind of would definitely be the night sky on the banks of the Yarra river. Its quite amazing..a visit to the local beach and St.Kilda Pier… Had my first night out at a Gentlemens club ( Though i couldn’t afford a lap dance ) and also attended the Apollo Bay Music festival on the Great Ocean Road while on our way to see the Twelve Apostles. The apostles are truly breathtaking.. drove to Port Campbell for Dinner and The food was finger lickin good.. i had Seafood Saganaki.. it had shrimp, prawns, scallops, mussels, oyster sauce and lots of feta cheese served with toast bread. We retired for the night some place close to the Twelve apostles.. It was The Twelve Apostles Motel and Country Retreat.. wonderful ambiance.. loads of farm animals nearby.. and a wonderful hostess. 🙂

I also did something unimaginable.. buying a porno magazine for my friend as a surprise.. well that’s actually not so unimaginable but buying it for my friend while his wife is standing next to me and suggesting which one to buy. Didn’t think i would ever do that.
Anyways.. the job hunt is still on.. Recession has killed quite a lot many jobs in the city.. Just hoping that i don’t hit into the wall of insanity anytime soon.
I also happened to visit the MCG and Rod Laver Arena.. will upload ’em the next time… Stay Tuned.
Cheers.
