What a week this has been

Well, Thats all i can say for this week.. Cant seem to remember when was the last time i did so much work in a single week.. Well i am gonna list em out so all the boys would agree.. It indeed has been a lot of work 😉

To start off :

• Shop till u drop.
• Run around to get my Drivers License
• Find out status of my visa 😦 which was rather disappointing ( not gonna be here for atleast 4 more weeks )
• Find something to do in next 4 weeks ( which I am contented that I did find something interesting )
• n the same ol “Pot Belly reduction” plan.

After i had to stand in the hot sun for over 2 hrs to get my Learners License.. yes you heard me right.. am 26 and i dont have a 4 wheeler license.. nothin to be ashamed of though. !! I dont think so its that bad. The  shopping was kinda ok though.. come on now.. its gonna benefit me as well.. was some clothes and items from health n glow 🙂 But dont seem to understand why GALS are sometimes so darn choosy bout stuff.. well if any GUY had to run to three different stores (which they generally dont) to find a single item/brand on the list and dont find it anywhere.. the GUY would opt for a different item/brand. but the GALS dont. Poooof..Women.. so darn confusing..

Nevermind that, now that i have close to 4 weeks i decided on upskilling myself to domains in which i have been working on but had very little formal training .. so i decided to enrol into SAS and Advanced analytics and predictive analysis.. am quite suprised at myself.. i hadnt done so much research on picking a course even when i had chosen to do my Diploma in darned Nitte.. ( No offence but am one of those who hates the place, though i kinda made many good frens there.. the college sucked. ). Finding the course wasnt easy .. Poor Bops had to walk around places in 4th block ( NIIT, Imperia and what not ) after a tiring days work.. well the day ended definitely on a good note as we hogged @ Chung Wah !! n then checked out Cell phones at a Nokia store. i seem to have fallen in luv with the E71, E51 and 5800 models.. well i own the E51 and its a fab. i guess the E71 maybe the next one.

Anyways will keep u informed of the course and the progress in my next blog.. keep waiting 🙂

One last puff.. !!!

Well.. This i something i checked out in one of the mags while i was travelling back from Kerala.. Couldnt stop thinking of all my frens who burn ciggies and blow worse than a choo choo train.  Folks.. time to think again.

Decommissioned !!

Decommissioned !!

PS : The pic aint too clear coz i had to take it using my cell phone. Nevertheless hope it conveys the message across.

Wave and Smile

Its been close to 3 weeks now since i have been out of work.. Still waiting to get an update from the embassy on my visa status.. gee i didnt think it was gonna take this long.. if i had known i’d probably have held on to my job in the BIG company for another month.. But nevertheless this break was kinda much needed.. Its comin after almost over 5 years of working.. Well as of now, i have been busy travelling and shopping, helping around the house, visiting relatives , catchin up with ol buds, working out ..( ahem ahem .. i know what u are probably thinking.. Yesssssss am on a killer spree to lose my pot belly.. damn u folks from chandigarh who made me a drink every weekend… 😉 kidding guys ).

Well admist all this, i have really started to appreciate the little gestures from people and realised how they go un-noticed. For Instance, we have been reading in the news bout reckless bus drivers, and folks cursing them and what not but do we appreciate any of the same drivers when they make way or follow the rules as they are meant to. Well its not quite always i have been given way by a bus driver but it did happen today near the busy South end Rd. Well i was surprised, anyone would have been.. given the reputation that follows the BMTC drivers but i did take a moment to grab his attention to wave and smile acknowledging he did good.  I guess i am sounding a lil crazy.. but to think of this in a whole different manner.. If he did realise that i smiled at him for being good on road, i am sure he’d want better days everyday than being cursed around for bad driving.

So folks, next time Wave n Smile … You never know — It may change driving habits in people.  But them change should always begin with ones ownself… so Be good on the road.. You never know someday , someone , somewhere will smile n wave to you 🙂 .

Cheers

New Years Here !!!

First of all, i wish all my frens and my readers a very happy and a prosperous new year 2009. May God bless u all wid good health, wealth and secure jobs ( ofcourse its a wish coz of the recent recession). Well New Years eve has been kinda okkkk this year. There isnt much excitement except that i have been celebrating the New Years eve in three diffrent time zones.. well it aint celebrating but more of wishing.. first it was my best buddy  at 6:30 PM IST as she is in Melbourne and it was already Jan 1st 2009.. shes bout 5.5 hrs ahead of me.. Then it was me wishin my family and a few guests ( well  i spent my new years eve at home .. will let u know more as u read on).. finally its bout wishin my frens in the US of A.. they are way behind me but i guess am awake till they get into 2009.

Well after juggling between my options on where and with whom to celebrate my new years eve, i zeroed in on my family.. more so they are my most favorite folks  in Bangalore well it was unusually quiet but fun.

The rest of the evening was fun with the guests. we drank down a few pegs of Vodka and hogged on fried fish and superb biryani .. wah.. it was finger lickin gud.. hope i am not in for copyright infrigement after using the catch phrase. 😉 . nevertheless then i had Prateek calling me from Chandigarh in a drunken state sharing his love life… Ooooops.. its not exactly his love life but the kind of fun tragic side of it… ( Did i mention he was almost 9 pegs down of you know what .. 😉 ) . Then finally it was New Years … There was clapping and hugging and welcoming the new year 2009 with all the little zest that was left in me after being a lil wee drunk.. well Durgi already had told everyone to enjoi ourselves coz in his own words… It come Once in Year Only !!

Cheers all the way.. Enjoi 2009

Just Our Luck !! ;)

Wonder whats happening to the creative minds in Indian Cinema.. at one corner we have the likes of Rahul Bose , Irfan Khan making movies such as Dil Kabaddi which are unique picking on the perils of the young and restless married couples who often find themselves drifting away towards the sinful side of the relationship.. Wow ..!!  is what i could say after watching the hilarious yet somewhat sensible movie.  At the other corner we have the likes of Aamir Khan making Ghajini which is an adaptation of a remake of another original movie “The Memento”.

Well moving on… the previous paragraph was actually drafted before i actually watched Ghajini and my my.. i must say it quite impressed me. Aamir was fab with his “8” yes eight pack abs.. i aint a gurl who would go gaga  over such things but here i am trying to lose my pot belly while heres the guy who works out to maintain a figure.. ofcourse i would have been doin it too if i was  swooshing crores.  Well heres the guy with short span memory trying to hunt down the Villain who gave him the memory loss and also killed his GURL , however some of the fight sequences did seem like they were for more than 15 minutes and he still retained some memory.. well the pros for the movie are quite many compared to the cons.. i would leave u to best judge the movie.. something i was again impressed in the movie was a song sequence in which we get to see 5 aamirs in diff avataars. Now that was some interesting shoot but i am still tryin to figure out how the hell they got to do that. Asin was pretty good except for the kachar pachar she went on with. They ofcourse tried to portray her as the very cutie goodie gurl helpin crippled kids cross over using a gate, lead a blind man while telling him whats happening in the background ( seemed more like a commentary ). Well except for that even funny moments like her dream of buyin 3 “Ambassador” cars. Woah..!!

Btw, i went to watch the movie with Bops interestingly, we’ve been in luck whenever we have been to watch movies, we ended up getting good seats even at the last moment.. first it was the “The Day the Earth Stood Still” then “Ghajini” .. !! Thats two in a row..!! Anyways.. when we ended up at the all friendly Inox, we were almost late then we get to wait at th Elevator and Pooof a  “Power Cut” thank heavens they had  a Generator. Then we reach the cinema only to find a “Sold Out” board.. It just gets better.. Bops decides to book tickets for the next days show and Voila.. Our luck shines… the guy at the counter tells us there are Two tickets 😉 available as someone cancelled them just a while back.. That was Awesome…!!! we Got our Tickets.. We got LUCKY !!!

PS: The even more interesting part was watching Bops in the middle of the movie.. She was almost at the edge of the seat and was sittin with her ears shut .. The last time i did that was when i watched Evil Dead as a kid.   Well it was a funny site though.. lolz
